A member asked:

Is it prudent to take lansoprazole when on warfarin to protect against stomach bleeds?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Medications like Lansoprazole are not routinely recommended when taking warfarin unless there are other indications. There is no proof that such a practice reduces the risk for a GI bleed. In fact, Lansoprazole interacts with warfarin and can increase the inr leading to an increased risk for bleeding if the warfarin dose is not adjusted properly.
