Menstruation/implant: Menstruation is what you get every month. Implantation bleeding is what happens to a small portion of women when they get pregnant after the fertilized egg implants itself into the uterine lining. This causes bleeding around the time when your expected menstruation is to come. The bleeding is, however, shorter and lighter than the regular menstrual bleeding. This is the difference b/w the two.
