A member asked:

Can you get herpes 2 from sharing a ciggarette while you have a cut on your tongue with someone who has herpes 2?

Genital herpes: Herpes 2 is usually transmitted by contact with the genital area, but if the person is shedding virus onto his hand and touches the cigarette and then you put the cigarette in your mouth, it would be possible to transmit the virus to you. Herpes 2 can cause oral infection.

Herpes Two: No. But remember the person infected with herpes is contagious where they are infected. Not other places. It is highly unlikely for someone with herpes two to have it on their tongue.
