Yes: Pain, numbness and/or weakness are important symptoms. Have it checked at the earliest.

Yes: Neurological symptoms such as loss of feeling or weak muscle can mean a more serious problem. If the pain with breathing is in your back that may also mean a more serious problem. If things are not severe and you can get in to your doctor tomorrow that would be ok. Otherwise the er is the right choice.

Pain control only: Chances are the er physician will do the best he/she can to get your pain under control; however, long term treatment should be discussed between you and your regular physician. Typically, i'd recommend an MRI of your back as well as emg/nerve conduction study to see where to go next. These will not be done in the er. Again, er is good for short term pain control only.
