Shrimp allergy: It is possible. I recommend you get blood or skin test to see if you have a true allergy.

Shrimp allergy: A food allergy occurs immediately after eating the food. If you went to bed not having any swelling or hives, it is unlikely that your morning symptoms are related to shrimp allergy. Causes of facial swelling are numerous. I suggest you consult an allergist to determine possible causes.

Maybe/maybe not: Both immediate & delayed reactions to foods do occur but you need to realize your experience is not a definite allergy to shrimp. They boiled or otherwise seasoned it with things like the peppers that could also be the trigger. There are blood tests that can get you closer to the truth. I'd avoid shrimp in any form until you get it sorted out.
