Is it okay to rinse after tooth extraction..help?

Not right away: Wait 24 hours for the blood clot to stabilize then very gentle rinsing should be ok. Nothing vigorous enough to disturb the clot, though.

Absolutely not!: Do not rinse, spit out or drink with a straw for at least the first 24 hours after an extraction. This may dislodge the blood clot in the socket and result in delayed healing and possibly a dry socket. Follow directions give. Were you not given them? If not, call and get them.
