Broken: They can have very similar symptoms but it depends on the severity of the fracture and the severity of the sprain. This not a simple question at all. There are classification systems for fractures and sprains and both require x rays and /or ct or MRI imaging to determine what is really going on. See your podiatrist for assistance.
