Simple definition: A wound is the name given to a break in the lining of our bodies or an organ of any depth that occurs from an external cause (trauma, surgery, a paper cut, a skin tear, etc). An ulcer is when the skin break occurs from an internal cause resulting in a break in the lining (stomach ulcer, diabetic or venous ulcer). A micro wound would be a very small break in the skin. This is an unusual term.
