Pressure sores: Are caused in the main by the patient remaining in one position whether in bed or wheelchair. There are special mattresses that can be purchased, ; pillow special for wheelchairs-- i encourage my bedbound pt to have caretakers r from side to side ; do their best to stay off areas of pressure.
