SIDS: Sids is one of the common causes of death in newborn to begin with. The risk of sids is highest in the first year, so to answer your question, - yes, it can still happen especially in those infants that sleep on their bellies.

Not common/possible: In the United States, sids is the major cause of death in infants between 1 month and 1 year of age, with most deaths occurring between 2 and 4 months. Sids happens in families of all social, economic and ethnic groups. Sids is not contagious, predictable or preventable. Sids is sudden and silent, occurring most often during sleep, with no signs of suffering.

No: The risk of SIDS drastically drops at this point and is virtually nonexistant at 6 months. The thinking is that deaths between 6 months and one year that are classified as SIDS are actually intentional or nonintentional suffocation.
