Offer, don't force: Formula is not the sole ingredient for nutrition. Offer other solid food items in addition to the formula. This is an age that infants will be moving more slowly in the growth velocity of the curve. 6 months olds will also be more aware of their surroundings and interact. If teething is truly bothering the infant-offer oral tylenol (acetaminophen) to take the edge off the "pain" as a trial.

Don't need to: If your child is gaining weight, pooping and peeing well, and developing well, then the amount of formula does not need to be increased. 20 oz a day is fine if everything else is going well. Some children just do not drink a lot of formula.
