Adding Singulair (montelukast): If you have used you proair or ventolin properly (inhale slowly in) , you may try upping the dose to 4 inhalations. Otherwise consider a trial with singulair (montelukast). Be sure that the breathing problem is from asthma. If the onset is less than 10 minutes, you may have what one calls vocal cord dysfunction which would not usually be helped by a bronchodilator.
