my toenail is black and when i cut it it was hollow it is thickening where it is not black but where it is black it's not thick. what should i do?

Biopsy: Best bet - let your pcp ot podiatrist biopsy and culture the nail tissue for you to objectify the source of nail thickness and discoloration. Any recent trauma or history of fungal infection ? Good health and happy 2014. -dr.H-.
