You may: If you are 4-5 days past the due date for your period you may do a home pregnancy test. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions carefully. If you use your bc regularly, the likelihood of pregnancy is low.

The brown: Discharge is likely to be older, deoxygenated blood being cleaned from your uterus. In that case - it could just be spotting or it could be the start of your period. If unsure, take a home pregnancy test.
