A member asked:

I was prescribed with lexapro (escitalopram) 10 for severe depression/anxiety, can it also help me with restless legs syndrome since i really feel it's associated?

Possibly: Lexapro (escitalopram) might indirectly help your restless legs by helping with more restful sleep but Mirapex and requip, dopaminergic drugs are actually indicated to treat restless legs. You should talk to your doctor if you continue to have problems about other treatments and testing. Iron deficiency can also be associated with restless legs.

RLS: Good question. Actually, Lexapro (escitalopram) and other selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (ssris) may induce or exacerbate restless legs syndrome (rls) in some people. If you are experiencing possible rls, please consult with a sleep medicine specialist and the doctor that prescribed your lexapro, (escitalopram) so they are aware of it. Avoid caffeine esp. Near bedtime. Hope that helps answer your question!
