Too much Exfoliating: Most people can exfoliate with a good gentle cleanser made for their skin type--your derm or family doc can help. Using a clarisonic to clean the face is also a great tool for better dirt/oil/makeup removal. You should not use harsh chemicals (unless under doc supervision), or use products with ground up apricot pits on your face as they can get caught in your pores and make things worse! lips ok!

Depends on depth: If the depth is li tied to the stratum corneum, the true depth of exfoliation, then your lips should remain the same. If you have exfoliated down to the basal layer or into the dermis, there is a possiblity your could have induced some permanent changes.
