Depends: Retinal re-attachment surgery is frequently successfuly in early detachments. If the macular area (central vision) is detached the likelihood is less likely for good vision but anatomical re-attachment is commonly achieved. Retinas detached by trauma are less likely to recover good vision than spontaneous detachments. Ask your retinal surgeon about which group is yours.
