A member asked:

What will cause the heart to have angeoplasty or cathorization?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cardiac disease: A cardiologist will perform an angiogram if blockage of a coronary artery is suspected based upon symptoms, changes on ecg, and elevated cardiac enzymes in the blood. If a blockage is found the angioplasty dilates the blocked artery and a stent is placed in that area.
