What can happen when a child gains no positive reinforcement from aggressive outburst?

It should lessen: When we ignore tantrums or aggressive outbursts and there is no positive reinforcement then the behavior should improve over time....As the child gets nothing for it...If irt does not then seeing a counselor would be helpful to determine the reason for its continuance.

Positive or negative: attention reinforces a behavior. Explain consequence for a tantrum. As soon as it starts, walk the child into time-out from behind; don't talk, yell, make eye contact or look angry. Repeat till he stays put, then set timer for 1 min/ yr. of age. Walk him out of time-out the same way. Tantrums will first worsen in a bid to gain your attention, then stop, if you consistently ignore them till gone.
