Depends on your: Degree of symptoms and findings on exam as well as the duration of the symptoms ; any other treatment to date. 90% are treated non op with a minimum of 8-12 weeks non op care recommended including: activity modification, medication, physical therapy, smoking cessation ; weight control. If symptoms don't improve and exam ; imaging studies are consistent with diagnosis, surgery is an option.
