Depends: On the size ; type of hiatal hernia. Most commonly medications are used to decrease acid in the stomach, avoid eating late at night or several hours before lsyonyg down. Sometimes surgical repair is indicated for some types of hiatal hernia. Newer non-invasive procedures are being developed.
