Controversy: American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology suggests that early introduction of highly allergenic foods such as peanuts may reduce children’s risk for developing food allergies. This is opposed to American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations of waiting until 3 years for peanuts. Discuss with child's doctor.
