Could you explain what is a "sternal congenital malformation"?

Abnormal sternum: "sternal congenital malformation" could be any abnormal formation or form of the sternum. For example "pectus excavatum" is an abnormal formation of the rib cage that gives the chest a caved-in or sunken appearance. The sternum itself can also have prominences or clefts.
