Should not have any: noticeable side effects. If your doctor recommended it, ask her/him, so you aren't delaying treatment. Since it's just kept in the ear canal, and you may have some go into your throat area, it should not cause any pain or discomfort, and work quickly. So, ask and report back to your doctor.
