Could you explain what is an arteriovenous malformation (avm)?

Brain Blood Vessels: In the brain , an avm is typically a twisted tangle of blood vessels where is an abnormal connection between arteries and veins. These can also be present in other parts of the body. Brain avm's carry a risk of bleeding if left untreated. They can also become symptomatic due to seizures and steal phenomenon (altered blood flow).
