Shame: Shame is very common. It is an inevitable feeling :something happened to you that you did not want to happen. Think about it , when something like that happens we have to feel bad there's no other possibility. We give a name to that feeling and that is a feeling of shame. Then there is guilt, guilt is the problem of feeling that we are going to be punished the somehow it was our fault.

Very common: Many rape victims are reluctant to talk about their experience. They are ashamed they allowed themselves to get in that situation and may have shame about the abuse of their bodies even though they usually are unwilling victims. It is a significant barrier to investigations and prosecution of rapists.

Shame: Absolutely!!! And that victim needs to find a reputable psychotherapist who specializes in rape trauma. In such cases, the more one can speak of being raped, recognizing it was not their fault, the less shame there will be. And why? Because rape victims often feel "dirty" and have a paralytic fear of being judged by people, whom, they find out are in absolutely no position to do so.
