Dental Plaque: Dental plaque is soft and easily removed with proper and adequate tooth brushing and flossing. When it becomes hard and is called calculus or tartar, it needs to be removed by a dentist or dental hygienist.

Dental plaque: You cannot eliminate dental plaque, as it will form no matter what we do. The question then becomes how do we manage it? With proper brushing and flossing at least twice a day for at least 2 minutes each time. Regular visits to the dentist for checkup and cleaning and restoring and cavities faulty restorations or broken teeth. Eating a healthy diet, less sugar and starchy foods = less plaque!
