Multiple causes.: I'm afraid you're going to need to see a doctor in person to sort this out. There are multiple causes of what you describe, with anemia/iron deficiency and thyroid problems (low thyroid or hypothyroidism) among them. These and other conditions can be checked out with an exam and some blood work. Good luck!

Sometimes Normal: Its normal to have some thinning hair and nail changes as we get older. If its concerning your more, i would discuss with your doctor to make sure your hormone levels are within normal limits and evaluate for any rheumatologic issues.
