No: A herniated disc has no direct effect on word finding or speech. In rare cases a large spur on the front of the spine can cause swallowing problems that make talking and swallowing uncomfortable.

No: A herniated disk in your neck should have no impact on your ability to talk. See your primary doctor or a neurologist. If this is acute, consider going to urgent care or an emergency room.
