Medication safety: Risk of side effects depends on the duration and frequency. Hydrocodone is addictive and is combined with Ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Excessive use can suppress breathing, cause liver damage and other issues. Ibuprofen can cause stomach bleeding and kidney failure. Taking these meds once may not cause a problem but recurrent long-term use can.
