Scar tissue: Surgery results in post-operative healing--which generally gives you scarring. The scarring causes unusual pressure or pulling on the organs that remain, which can pull the nerves -- resulting in pain. Different positions may also result in more pain than others. Perhaps you can try something else that would be more comfortable.
