A member asked:

Can a yeast infection cause you to miscarry?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: The best documented risk factors for spontaneous abortion are advanced maternal age, maternal smoking, and previous history of spontaneous abortion. Most miscarriages are caused by embryonic chromosomal abnormalities and exposure to teratogens. Certain maternal infections can result in spontaneous abortion. However, vaginal yeast infection (candidiasis) is not one of them.
