Brain injury: By definition, CP is a disorder of motion or posture resulting from injury to the nerve centers responsible for this function at some point before the 3rd birthday. It can be due to an insult during pregnancy labor, delivery or infancy. Infection, lack of oxygen or blood flow are common factors.
