Hair loss: I am not familiar with any research or known causes of hair loss in myotonic dystrophy patients. However, it is possible that someone with myotonic dystrophy may also have the genetic tendency toward male or female pattern hair loss or that hair loss may be a side-effect of some of the medications used in myotonic dystrophy.
