A member asked:

Should i be concerned if my baby formula has corn syrup solids as the first ingredient. isn't that basically sugar?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to avoid: Baby formulas are basically water, a protein source (bovine, soy), a sweetener (corn syrup is used by many) and various vitamins and minerals. The content is monitored by the fda and must meet their standard for content. I believe breast milk is a better feed for babies, but formulas are a safe and effective substitute..
