Capgras Syndrome: Capgras syndrome consists of the delusional belief that a person or persons have been replaced by doubles or impostors. Capgras and reboul-lachaux described this syndrome in 1923. It can occur in both primary psychiatric conditions like schizophrenia and also in neurodegenerative brain disorders like alzheimer's ; ms; infections, and drug toxicity. Bifrontal and temporal areas are implicated.

Delusional disorder: Capgras' syndrome is characterized by the delusion that someone has been replaced with an imposter, it is rare but may be associated with schizophrenia, brain injury and dementia.It is treatable with cognitive- behavioral therapy and at times antipsychotics, although there are no hallucinations.
