Avoid stomach sleep: It is generally best to sleep on your back with 2 pillows beneath your knees, and 1 between your knees if on your side. The pillow and mattress should be the same density according to Japanese orthopedists. Also, it is best to avoid sleeping on one's stomach as it forces one to turn one's head, which can lead to torticollis or other neurological symptoms which often mimic carpal tunnel syndrome.
