ADD and ADHD: Tend to run in families and it appears to be genetic in origin, not learned behavior. Most people seem to have it from infancy and earliest development.

Yes: Most cases of ADHD in children are inherited. There are environmental factors that can contribute. Too little sleep, inadequate diet are contributions. Brain injury and brain infections can also cause symptoms of ADHD
