Nope -- the opposite: Constipation is not a side effect of lithium. People may often have nausea (50% incidence), vomiting (20% incidence), diarrhea and loose stools (20% incidence) though. Sometimes these effects can warn that lithium levels are getting too high. So, think of the opposite of constipation and you'll have the idea.

Lithium: More thirst & urination, not constipation. Talk to your doctor about other possibilities such as the Iron you are taking.
