See your GYN: There are several reasons why menstrual cycles can be irregular, including medications or underlying medical conditions like diabetes, Insulin resistance, obesity, or polycystic ovarian syndrome. Irregular cycles, especially if prolonged, can put people at risk for other medical problems. Most of these are easily addressed to restore regular cycles.
