Exam needed: Pain in the lower chest area which increases on lying down can be coming from the heart or heart lining, the esophagus or stomach. Heart lining inflammation and rib pain are affected by deep breathing. Stomach gas gives you the urge to belch. Try drinking some hot water. If no relief get examined by a physician.
