Avoid in pregnancy!: Depakote should be the last drug to be considered for epilepsy therapy in pregnancy because of its strong embryotoxicity and causal relationship with severe fetal anomalies (ranging from anencephaly and myelomeningocele to valproic acid embryopathy).
