A member asked:

What is the best way to treat acute cytomegalovirus infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually no need to: Treat. Most people have had CMV infection and in otherwise healthy people, it may cause, at worst, a flu like illness and does not need treatment. If a person has other complicating issues, especially immune deficiency then it would need the expertise of an infectious disease expert. It is not a do-it-yourself issue.
