What is the reason most pills make us have monthly periods?

Reassurance : A lot of women find having a period reassureing, because they know then that they aren't pregnant. Others are under the mistaken impression that a period is necessary to "clean the system out". It's not, & adjusting your pills to avoid periods isn't a big deal.
