Two things: This could be simply due to menopause, or it could be a sign of something serious, like cancer. Drenching night sweats are common when estrogen levels drop. But if you went through menopause years ago, this is less likely. Some cancers cause drenching night sweats as an early sign, so it's best to see your doctor.
