Stress: Sounds like stress and or anxiety. Random twitching of an eyelid, which happens in normal people, is called myokymia (an involuntary, spontaneous, quivering of a few muscle cell bundles within a muscle). Myokymia starts and stops spontaneously. In the eyelids, it can last a few minutes to a few days. Often triggered by stress, dry eyes, caffeine, or lack of sleep.

Blepharospasm: Blepharospasm, or twitching around the eye, can be caused by fatigue or stress. There is no great medication to help persistent symptoms. Botox injections are very effective but these have to be repeated every 3-4 months since the effect wears off over time. Typically, the eyelid twitching is not a serious problem, but it can be very annoying to the patient.
