Many causes of sob: Exertional shortness of breath has many causes. It can be due to overall poor physical fitness and being out of shape. It can be due to asthma. It can be due to gastroesophageal reflux. Anemia can cause exertional shortness of breath. Another consideration is a "blood clot" or pulmonary embolus, not uncommon in women who take birth control medication. See your doctor asap.

Find out: You should be evaluated to see if you have asthma or some other respiratory problem that needs attention. It's great that you're running, but find out what the problem is. Provera, (medroxyprogesterone) a progestational agent, might increase your risk of blood clot-related problems in leg or pelvic veins, just as birth control pills can do. I'm not saying you should stop provera; i prescribe it myself. But get checked.
