Different: What feels like a skip to you is often an extrasystole. If an ECG or monitor actually shows a missed or dropped beat, this is different. It may be from medications, or there may be some problem with the conduction system in your heart. When you doc looks at the actual arrhythmia on the strips, he can determine the seriousness of it, and if any treatment is needed.
