Exam: If your vagina is sore and you have discharge you need to schedule a visit with an obgyn for testing. Stds can present with these symptoms. A yest infection is another possibility.

Vaginitis: They probably are not in any way connected. Pain and discharge means infection. One does not just sit at home and suffer. One should get to the doctor for tests and examination.
