Kidney infection: A urinary tracy infection that also involves the kidneys could give you back pain. It can also have fevers and may require antibiotics intravenously. If you have shaking chills, fevers, etc then see a doctor please.

Yes: Pyleonephritis is an infection of your kidneys and definitely causes back pain. I would say to avoid this see your primary doctor for antibiotics before it gets this bad.
